Pinecraft Park, Sarasota, Florida
- If you love and admire Amish, Mennonite people, & checkers, then its
Sarasota. The senior Amish & Mennonites, like birds and grandparents migrate to Florida during the
winner, particularly Sarasota where there's a nice residential neighborhood at the Bahia
Vista St/Beneva Rd, an Amish village area. They come down for their extended winter vacation
spot out of OH, PA,
& IN. This is such a popular spot that there are "Florida bus-line runs" out of
Millersburg and Lancaster County all months except August, and up to 3 times a
week from February through April.
- Yoder's Restaurant, best home cooking and Pinecraft Park
are close by. This small 22 acre park is, quite, and usually not busy
which makes it ideal for playing checker at a picnic shelter. Its free, open
356 days per year (parking closed from midnight until 6AM) - call 941-861-9930
to reserve a shelter. This community park has trails, fishing, boat
ramp, canoe/kayak launch, picnic shelter, pavilion, basketball court,
